Attachment & Interoception as Moderators of
Minority Stress among TGNC Individuals

Project Background:

Research being conducted by Aurélia Pollier and Christina Panas aims to explore the potential moderating effects of attachment security and interoceptive awareness on negative psychological outcomes associated with gender identity-based discrimination, specifically the internalization of discriminatory attitudes among transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. They employ semi-structured and projective interviews (i.e. the Adult Attachment Interview (George, Kaplan, & Main, 1985) and Mirror Interview (MI; Kernberg, 2007) in corroboration with self-report measures to trace vulnerabilities to stress and sources of resilience in this population.
